This program is designed to aid community recovery through the partial repair of homes that were damaged in the 2022 February/March floods and landslides.
The Repair to Return project will facilitate the partial restoration of at least 250 more homes across the Northern Rivers; and the restoration of essential plumbing to at least 100 more. Resilient Lismore is aiming to achieve greater numbers than this with funding from government and additional contributions from private and corporate donors.
The Project is being delivered across the Northern Rivers and all requests for assistance from people impacted by the disaster of February / March 2022 will be assessed for eligibility.
Resilient Lismore has developed a flexible and responsive program that meets the differing needs of individual community members, to ensure their home is safe and functional.
If you, or someone you know, needs assistance repairing a disaster damaged home please get in touch to see how we can help.
The program will only deliver the partial restoration of homes and buildings, it will not provide full home restoration. The program intent is to restore essential functionality of the property to enable safe living spaces for residents.

people.
We will consider other partial repair works such as alternative living spaces or fencing restoration where those works will meet significant need for the property owner. These are informed by risk and vulnerability.
Where multiple trades people are required, project management will be provided.
The program will only deliver the partial restoration of homes and buildings, it will not provide full home restoration. The program intent is to restore essential functionality of the property to enable safe living spaces for residents.
This project will not fund full restoration or rebuild, and can not fund significant structural works such as complete re-stumping or major house raising.
This project will not fund swimming pool restorations, garages, sheds or pergolas except where the shed is being used for emergency accommodation.
This project will not assist with stripping out materials from homes that have been accepted for buy back through the Reconstruction Authority’s Resilient Homes program.
Homes that are deemed to be unsafe or require significant asbestos removal will not be funded by this project.

The Repair to Return steering committee meets quarterly, and quarterly milestone and financial reports are submitted to the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
To assist with this reporting, before and after photos are taken of properties, these can be shared with the NSW Reconstruction Authority, but will only be shared with the public with written consent from the homeowners.
Participants will be asked to participate in a voluntary survey once their request for works is approved and again at the completion of works. This will assist us to monitor the program and also help us to understand communities’ needs as the recovery progresses and in preparation for future disasters.
Compliance reports will be available in relation to plumbing, electricity and waterproofing.
Wherever possible and in consultation with the homeowner resilient building materials will be used in the repair of properties, but the ultimate decision for what materials is used is that of the homeowner.
Homeowners can co-contribute towards materials for repair work if they want materials outside the Resilient Lismore budget.
Requests for assistance are received either online or face to face at the Hub in Lismore or through referrals from organisations delivering Recovery Support Services and other community services.
Nice girls and they got stuck into it. They worked as a team too. They all knew what they were doing. We’re so grateful
