We had a great day at the Emergency Preparedness Day at Rock Valley on Sunday August 3rd, alongside representatives from the Red Cross, RFS, SES, and other local organisations, and hosted by the Rock Valley Community Resilience Team.
The event brought together community members for a day focused on practical preparedness, supported by food, music, and informal connection.
The Rock Valley Community Resilience Team (CRT) is actively engaging residents in disaster readiness initiatives, including UHF radio training to help maintain communication during emergencies—an important step in strengthening local response capabilities.
We also appreciated the opportunity to explore the NSW Reconstruction Authority’s “Big Map” of the region, which offered a useful visual overview of the local landscape and potential risk areas.
Thanks to all involved for a well-organised and informative day.
