The Resilient Lismore team is back at it, after a good break over Christmas and New Year’s. We’ve undertaken training in systems, processes, IT, and trauma care.
We have big plans for 2024, including hosting workshops to help our community members learn the skills needed to use tools and conduct their own repairs.
In March we’ll host the inaugural Disaster Ready Together Summit, bringing together community sector organisations to give people working in community services a critical and timely opportunity to learn from leading experts in the disaster recovery and resilience sector, and share local and regional knowledge to reduce risks to the sector when disasters strike in the future.
We have new volunteers, and a PhD candidate from the University of Melbourne here to conduct research.
We’ll hold plenty of community-centred activities and events over the course of the year, and of course, we will continue to support and assist the Northern Rivers community to recover from the 2022 disaster and build resilience for future events.
Come in and see us at the Hub, 215 Keen St, any time between 9am-4pm, Tuesday to Friday. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know about our next free workshop, and most importantly – take care out there!
